NAMTA

June 2nd, 2006

I have finally been back in my studio!!!!! It is cleaned up and ready for a new round of art!!!! My two new pieces are posted on the web site. I was trying out some sample paint I got when I went to the Boston Namta show,(National Art Material Trade Association). There were so many cool products, I couldn’t wait to get back here and play with them! I have some Graham acrylic samples that have brilliant color and are made with high quality pigments that are just beautiful, but I found them to be a bit soft for my taste. I also tried the new Steven Quiller paints. Those had a nice texture and some of the colors had a bit of a natural shine to them. I am still deciding if I like that or not. I have been getting some feedback from many of you that I need to try the Golden acrylics. If any of you have an opinion on a new brand to carry I would love to hear it!

The other exciting products I tried were some new items from Caran D’ache. They have upgraded their line of water soluble crayons with a higher concentration of pigment for more intense color and better lightfastness. They are also thicker. There are some cool new watercolor pencil sticks, artist quality oil pastels, and regular pastels. All in stock, and we have samples for you to play with if you would like to check it all out!!!

Art is so much fun!!!

These two small paintings were done with a combination of the two new paints I was checking out. You can really see the natural shine off the Steve Quiller purple. The intensity of color off the Graham.
