About the Class
Explore the Power of Light and Shadow On Flowers with Pastel
This one-day workshop will explore the transformative qualities of light and shadow on flowers. It's what makes us stop and stare when we see some flowers and pass others by. We will focus on the principles of value and composition to bring these beautiful subjects to life! The day promises to be energetic, engaging and individualized to your needs. Join us! All levels welcome.
The class will include instructor demonstrations, interaction, and individual critiques designed for beginners getting started with pastels and experienced painters interested in taking a fresh approach.
Supply List:
- Small Sketchbook
- Compressed charcoal
- Small all-purpose eraser (pencil erasers are great) for preliminary sketches
- Pastel set – Soft and/or hard pastels. WE DO NOT USE OIL PASTELS. Student-level sets okay – should contain variety of darks & lights.
