About the Artist

"I'm an artist living in suburban Boston that loves painting from nature and the beauty that surrounds us in New England.

My preferred medium is oil on linen, with a style emphasizing impressionism. It all begins with a charcoal sketch from life which allows a more personal approach to the overall design and lighting effects. My painting efforts have really become most intense in the last few years following retirement from a career in microbiology. I find great satisfaction creating a unique painting whether working on a still life or finding just the right spot outside for a plein air landscape.

I began refining my approach to painting while taking classes with local artists Dustin Neece and Bob Collins. My foundation came from night classes at MFA Boston with Constantine Arvanites during my graduate training in Boston.  This was followed by three years of night classes with Ray Goodbread at Gibbs Museum School, Charleston S.C.  I am a member of the Framingham Artist Guild and the Wayland Art Guild and have received numerous awards at their juried shows and in local gallery shows."
