Jane Yates creates joyful and mesmerizing acrylic pour paintings inspired by nature.
30 years after majoring in art at college and running a successful catering business that left little time for visual arts on the side, Jane now works as a framer at Post Road Art Center. She was looking for a way to get back into the visual arts but felt intimidated. Acrylic pour painting seemed to her like a good way to get back into some form of art.
"I kind of saw it as a stepping stone to more traditional painting, but I really fell in love with the color and movement in pouring. It's so ironic that such inorganic ingredients produce such organic images. They are really a kind of Rorschach test - everyone seems to see something different in them"
